This is a calligraphy course for sisters, taught by Samia Anwaar, focused on the Thuluth script. We begin with the basic strokes and angles that every letter is built on, then work through the letters one by one in detailed lessons.
Once the letters are familiar, we turn to how each one connects to the next, so that you can begin writing words rather than letters on their own. The course finishes with a final assignment that brings it all together.
No prior experience is required. If you have always admired Arabic calligraphy and wanted to try it yourself with a qalam in hand, this is a gentle and thorough place to start.
What you'll learn

Make the basic strokes of the Thuluth script at the correct angles
Write each letter of the Thuluth script on its own
Connect every letter to the letters around it
Complete a final calligraphy assignment
