Dr. Zehra Seyhan
Zehra Seyhan is a neuroscientist, Islamic studies scholar, educator, and community leader whose work bridges the fields of science, faith, and education.
She completed her foundational Islamic studies in Türkiye before earning a Bachelor of Islamic Studies from Charles Sturt University. She later completed a PhD in Neuroscience at the University of Wollongong, where she also served as an academic and researcher. Her interdisciplinary background enables her to explore the relationship between neuroscience, Islamic thought, education, family wellbeing, and contemporary societal issues.
As a mother of four, Dr. Seyhan is deeply committed to strengthening families and nurturing faith-based communities. She currently leads Haya Nest Playgroup at Guildford Mosque, where she supports young families by fostering meaningful early childhood experiences grounded in Islamic values.
Through her teaching, research, public speaking, and community engagement, Dr. Seyhan is passionate about making both scientific and Islamic knowledge accessible and relevant to everyday life. Her work seeks to inspire lifelong learning, strengthen faith, and cultivate thoughtful, resilient communities.
