About
"Iqra" (اقرأ) is the first word revealed in the Qur'an, meaning "Read" or "Recite". Surah Al-'Alaq.
In a world filled with constant distractions, this is your invitation to reconnect with the Book of Allah, nourish your heart, and spend a meaningful morning in the company of sisters who are also striving for a deeper connection with their faith.
This gathering explores Living with the Qur'an by Aliyah Rayan, a beautiful and practical invitation to build a deeper, more personal relationship with the words of Allah, and to discover how the Qur'an can guide, comfort and transform our everyday lives.
Living with the Qur'an encourages us to engage with it as a lifelong companion. Through heartfelt reflections and practical insights, the book reminds us that every verse has the power to bring clarity, healing, hope and direction, no matter what season of life we find ourselves in.
This gathering is an opportunity to reflect on how we can move beyond recitation into truly living the Qur’an.
Together we explore tafseer of ayat, reflection (tadabbur) and spiritual growth, with themes like ihsan, reliance on Allah, finding peace through His words, and building a meaningful connection with the Qur’an in our daily lives.
What to expect
Doors open at 9:30am and we begin at 10am. Come as you are.
We begin with a grounding and breathing relaxation segment, to help us arrive fully, settle in, and become present.
Bring your copy of the book, your audiobook, your journal, or simply come as you are.
Together we read through carefully selected passages from Living with the Qur'an.
Writing to prompts drawn from the book, before we talk.
Honest conversation, guided by the same prompts.
We finish with a meaningful group activity centred around the Beautiful Names of Allah: a chance to reflect, connect, and carry what we have explored into our lives beyond the gathering.
Using prompts from the book, we create space for honest conversation around:
Our relationship with the Qur’an
Navigating spiritual highs and lows
Finding tranquility through Allah’s words
Cultivating habits that draw us closer to Him
And most importantly, how we can implement the ayahs into our everyday lives
Speaker
Aisha founded The Tranquil Soul and runs support groups and programs on her farm and online. Her own journey with anxiety began more than fifteen years ago while she was pregnant. Breathwork and the help of a nurse therapist changed it, alhamdulillah, and she has kept that daily practice ever since. She shares the key practice she uses to stay grounded emotionally, spiritually and mentally.
