About
Who we are
Barakah Masjid began in a rented hall in Lakemba with eleven people and one teacher. A decade on it runs five daily prayers, a term-based Arabic school, weekly halaqas for brothers and sisters, and gatherings that fill the garden.
The shape of the thing has not changed: someone who knows, sitting with people who want to. Everything we run is open to the whole community, and nobody is turned away for cost.
What we do
A week at the masjid
Five daily prayers
Doors open twenty minutes before each adhan, every day of the year.
Jumu'ah
Two congregations, 12:30pm and 1:30pm, with the khutbah in English and Arabic.
Weekly halaqas
Tuesday evenings for brothers, Thursday evenings for sisters, all welcome.
Term courses
Qur'anic Arabic, Seerah and Fiqh, taught over nine-week terms.

Entrance
Five minutes on foot from Lakemba station, turn right out of the entrance.
Parking
Street parking on Haldon Street; the council car park behind the masjid is free after 6pm.
Enter
Step-free entry on the Quigg Street side, and the prayer hall is on one level.
