Who we are
She runs youth programs in Sydney. He builds the software. Barakah Bookings began as the thing she could not find, and it still gets built the same way. She runs a program, something is harder than it should be, and it gets fixed before the next one.
More than thirty programs have run on it with ICMG Sisters Youth Sydney since June.
The problem
Sign-ups in one place, the door list printed the night before, no mailing list worth the name, a different tool for every job. The people holding it together are giving up their evenings. The software should not be the hard part.
“Nothing I tried gave me simplicity. I spent more time managing the systems than the program.”
What we are building
Tickets, the door, the money and the people who came. Simple enough for a volunteer to learn on the night, and solid enough to hold a room of three hundred. What we will not do matters just as much.
The pledge
A tenth of every fee, not a tenth of what is left at the end of the year. You choose the charity, it is given in your organisation’s name, and you get a statement each quarter to show your committee. It comes out of our share, never yours.

Every masjid, school and teacher that runs on this is one more that keeps its people, its money and its data in its own hands. That is the whole of it. Build something our community can rely on, give a tenth of it away, and let the barakah travel further than the two of us ever could.
